Donno about the A4's, but sometimes mist means your recirc flap
is stuck.
On the type 44's, the foam rubber seal on the flap would shift
and the remaining adhesive would cause it to stick shut. In
the winter your windows would fog up, on hot humid summer days
your AC would make mist. --Gary

Some mist happens, if it is VERY humid and the A/C is running at
full blast. I've had this on both of my older cars, haven't seen
it yet on my '00 A6. If the A/C still cools, I wouldn't ... um ...
sweat it :-)
