CLS - trunk lid

Hey all,
I got my '94 90 almost a year ago, and about a week after I got it the trunk
lid Central Locking System stopped functioning. When I got the car, it was
very difficult to turn the trunk lock either way, and one day it popped and
became easy to use. I'm thinking that one of the vaccuum lines may have
come off at that point. I have removed the trunk cover and inspected the
lock mechanism and the blue pump next to it. Both appear fine. I also
traced the vaccuum lines as far as possible along the passenger side of the
car. The line that connects to the rear seat latches was loose so I
tightened it and taped it in place.
All my locks work centrally from the driver or passenger door locks,
including un/locking the gas flap and the trunk lid. The issue is that the
trunk lock cannot un/lock the whole car. Any ideas as to what may cause
these symptoms?
In my tracing of the vaccuum lines I did notice that the blue pump above the
central locking system computer (behind the gas flap) had an open port
facing the back. Is there supposed to be a vaccuum line attached to there?
And if so, where does it lead, because I couldn't find a disconnected line
near there?
Thanks in advance,
Mike Friesen
