5kt short block questions

I went junkyarding the other day and found a 5kt with a complete bottom end.  
Pistons and bores are fairly rusty but everything else looks to be in good 
shape.  How can I determine if it is MC-1, 2??  The numbers are hard to read 
at best but it does have the single filter set-up instead of the dual filter. 
 Unfortunately all of the computer and injection equipment is gone as well as 
the head, manifolds, coolers.
Will a N/A 5k head fit an MC??  What is tha huge pump on the radiator side of 
the block for???
