on these issues, i would go to the state attorney general (or whoever you're
supposed to complain to in your state).  prior to doing that, i would
threaten the dealer with that action, (in the showroom, not in the back
office) and maybe ask a couple of customers on the lot if they think the
damage to your paint is acceptable on a new car.

another other option is your local tv-news program complaint hotline, but
make yourself sympathetic:  "i've owned an old audi for years and finally
saved up enough money to buy a shiny new car and this happened...."  it
wouldn't hurt if you're an 80 year old grandmother for this part.

just my thoughts, you should consult an attorney prior to taking these
actions in your area.
