<< What 15 cars can keep up on the autobahn?
Or I-380 for that matter. I commute 84 miles one way
every day. I don't want some 400 hp rattle trap that
 does 10 sec. 1/4 mile times. In Feb. I drove a 2001
Merc. C200 w/ 6 speed. A thousand miles mostly at
135-150 mph. No drama, no noise. Very smooth and
competent. I imagine the S4 is aimed at this market,
not teens in baggy clothes racing in town. Honda and
Chevy's Cavalier already saturated that market. By
the way, where are all these "image racers" on the
real roads? I've not yet seen one of these pathetic
wastes ever doing more than 75 mph on the highway.
Too much plastic wind resistance? Body kits fly off?
If I wanted to drive like that I would have kept my 66
Chevelle SS. I think somebody got on the wrong list
 by mistake.

540i Sport, E46 M3, M coupe, M roadster, Porsche Boxster S, 928 GT/GTS, 944
Turbo, E28 and E34 M5's, AMG C34. Or maybe, with my 41K$, I could get a 996
C2 widebody, 850Ci (or better yet, a 6 speed 840Ci), 2 E36 M3's, 3 or 4 944
Turbos, 2 nice M6's, or pick up a used E55 AMG (might be close, but I bet you
could find one...)

That's 13 cars. All from Germany. All off the top of my head. If I spent
some time (ie, about 5 more minutes) thinking about it, I'm sure that I can
come up with a few more..
Wanna cruise? For 41K, you can get a 740iL, a nice used 750iL, or even a
nice S class Mercedes, all of which would be happy with you setting the
cruise control at 155mph for the day.
Oh, I'm sorry....did you want me to list the non-German cars that could keep
up with - scratch that - blow by an S4? Christ, the car isn't god......I've
run across several S4 owners who complain about the car being "slow". And
I'd be happy to run against any S4 in my GT - on a track - and I bet whoever
it was would have a hell of a time being faster than me....hard to defy
physics, even with 250 hp and awd.

But hell Jim, you can rant and rave at me all you want, I obviously don't
know what I'm talking about and am solely on this list to support the
interests of Honda owners, especially the ones with body kits that fall off.

Later!
Carter
