Every single standing start race begins with a drag, this includes every
formula 1 race and every other race where the cars actually start at the
starting line (rallies, auto-x etc) in my own personal experience my CGT
gained over a second just with a good launch at an Auto-X. In the US most of
the Freeways, highways etc. are relatively straight and if you have ever
done any stoplight racing or 80 - 100mph on the freeway it was probably in a
straight line and you probably enjoyed it! Don't say you didn't cause
everyone who has a license has done it and liked it. Personally I enjoy and
participate in every form of Motorsport that my CGT can participate in and
still be streetable. I honestly do believe that it is a testament to Audis
engineering when an 18 yr old CGT can beat new modified hondas, Acuras, and
other cars in all out acceleration and know that I can still go out on the
road course and beat them to and around the next corner. There is skill
involved in Drag racing and engineering as well C'mon 6000 hp top fuel V8's
that is engineering even if they only last 1/4 mile.

my 20 cents
