Waterfest

I'm sure Taka has a more complete report than I so I'll keep this short,
Waterfest (minus the two hours it took to leave the parking lot!) was a
lot of fun (especially seeing the two 5KCSQ turbo's (one sedan, one
wagon, both brothers from NH) nearly wipe up in the "1 power adder class"
at the drags (okay, never been to one before, was actually kinda fun to
watch) with nearly sub 14 second, nearly 99 MPH quarters, over, and over,
and over again. And the pro-drag Golf/Jettas doing 11's at 120 was
particularly impressive, though I didn't get the chance to see them
launch.
The autocross course seemed rather tight, but I suppose when I bring the
GTi back to life after it's major reconstructive plastic surgery from
last summer's fallen tree to Waterfest next year, I'll have a go at stock
class. There were a few cars that were well driven at the "X", but they
weren't as common as the drag drivers.
Neat custom cars, but although vendors a-plenty, not too much useful for
the type 44. Oh well.
Did get to meet Steve Ankley (sp?) briefly, before our line to leave the
P-lot actually started moving!
