Hi,

Are there more information on the other I5 engines somewhere? I Have played
around with the idea of a bastard engine with a Volvo head and a Audi bottom
end for some time now. This was not a good idea, the volvo engine has a
larger separation between the cylinders then the audi engine has. That is
sad, volvos head are a lot better then audis 20v head.

Now when there are a few more alternatives heads it could be a nice project
some time, I guess that the honda is out of the question since honda engines
often rotate the wrong way. If it is a vtech engine it could be worth trying
to fit a honda oil pump and change the rotation of the engine.

Fiat has probably made a super lightweight head that is fragile as hell,
even if italian castings are a lot better then german castings it could be a
bit fragile at high boost. Toyota are make good engines, if it is a new one
the adjustable cams can be a problem.

The bastard engine is a great tradition over here, many very nice engines
with internals from up to three makes has been very quick here. Like one
with Saab16v head, opel bottom end, volvo pistons and rods from something
else.
