87 5kCSTQ Mysterious Brake Light

BTDT last week when my 80 q failed the MOT test because the fog light
wouldn't work. The wires at the join were all broken (and been repaired
once). Found the best way to repair it was take some mains cable (multi
strand) and replace a ~150 mm section so the new joins would be inside the
plastic holders and (hopefully) will not be bent to much. BTW you may need
to 'remodel' these plastic holders (with a pair of cutters remove some of
the side) since it's quite a tight fit. Hope this helps :)
