Brake pedal position (was: Re: A$ (whoops, A4) clutch pedal travel)

I am 5'9", I like to adjust the seat so that when the clutch is pressed to
the floor my leg is just short of full extension.
When I do that I am perfectly positioned for the gas.
But, the $%^%$ brake pedal is several inched higher than the gas and I have
to bend my knee enough to make hitting the brake uncomfortable in
stop-and-go traffic, not to mention how hard it is to heel-and-toe.

Does anyone else feel the same way?

Does anyone know if it is possible to either
  a) Move the gas pedal up
or, preferably
  b) Move the brake pedal down?

Thanks,
Scott

BTW: I agree on the clutch
