Hello all,
Car is 89 90q, will be upgraded in Dayton OH. I believe that I've bought
everything necessary for my suspension upgrade that will be taking place this
saturday, sunday, monday and tuesday. For my car repairs, I generally allow
for twice the time that is recommended by the list.
I've got the 2bennett coilover system, koni shocks, new strut mounts, spring
bumper stops, new rear control arm bushings (just had front replaced), and the
trusty Bentley. I realize that wheel bearings and subframe bushings would be a
good idea while I have my car apart, but recent transmission problems have
limited my spending. I plan on taking the strut assembly out, having the new
spring perches installed at a local machine shop, and reinstalling everything.
I have the two pronged nut for the top of the strut, and a pretty extensive
collection of metric tools for the job.
My questions are:
I know Javad wrote his suspension upgrade up and it's in the archives
somewhere, but I can't find it...help?
Am I forgetting anything: tools, parts, anything else I should do while I'm in
there, etc (I will have plenty of frosty bronsons to keep the work bearable,
and the helper(s) happy)?
I'll be borrowing a spring compressor from the local PepAutoQuest store, unless
this is inadequate, and another compressor is recommended. I'd rather not buy
one.?
Alignment will be set at local foreign car shop in Dayton, OH. Recommendations
on where, how much camber, toe-in, etc?
Looking at Scott Mockry's site, I saw instructions on taking apart the
suspension of a 5000/100/200. Basically the same/totally different and not
worth reading again?
Has anyone else written up the upgrade and posted it anywhere, with lots of
pretty pictures???:)
Any listers want to help out/stop by and watch/drink some beers?
TIA, I'll probably be sending lots of mail/annoying questions to this list as
the upgrade progresses, I'll take lots of pictures too.
Adios for now,
Nathan Engelbert
