i think this statement is a bit broad, i bought my cgt which is 17 years old
for £350 18 months ago, it had about 87k on it, and was cosmetically
unloved. All that i have had to do to keep it road legal and drivable was -
a new clutch, 3 wheel bearings and 2 cv boots. oh, and my centre box rotted
through so i replaced that with my own homebrew system, and a set of tires,
i have however invested more time (and money) into it for my own pleasure.
so i think that there may be better buys sometimes. the car is by no means
mint, but i still get a lot of looks.
