A coupe GT is a vastly simpler and more reliable vehicle than a type
44. Not that the type 44 can't be *made* reliable, but chances are,
when you buy a used car, that there will be some "hidden" maintenance
that you will have to do soon. On a coupe this might mean a tune up and
some bushings. On a type 44 it could mean those bushings and the tune
up, and $1500 worth of hydraulic system work in the next year or two,
learning the insides of the climate control intimately, and repairing
bundles of wire as thick as your wrist running into door jambs.
While a truly sorted out 5kt would be well worth $2600, it will be
almost impossible to determine if the given car is that clean with
pre-purchase inspections.
