They probably used shorter screws.  You can get some
from a fastner supply house, and then swap them 1 at a
time.  I don't think there IS a thinner duct.

The pulley is actually 2 pieces.  There is an
assortment of washers that go in front of or behind
the pulley to orient it to the crank pulley.  If the
rear edge of the pulley is away from the fan, you can
remove the/some washers and reassemble.  BTDTx2.
