*sigh* HID lights under attack

After looking at the Autoweek article on the Mini, I have similar concerns
re. the lights mounted in the hood. How well will aim be maintained, much
less how long will filaments last with the light assembly getting slammed
each time the hood is raised and shut. Of course, it's a BMW design now, so
it should work, right?! Of course, one guy in the office has his '99 525i
at the dealer again (flatbedded the third time) with another dud fuel
pump....
