I've just received some control arm bushings by mail from Halsey
Imports, Portland, OR. Maybe there's no problem, but I want to be
absolutely sure I got the right ones. The bushings are made by Meyle,
and the label on the box says:

OE 8A0 407 181
GUMMILAGER, QUERLENKER
BUSHING, CONTROL ARM
Art. No. 100 407 0026

So it certainly sounds as if they're control arm bushings, and this
should be a no-brainer. However, if you turn to p. 40.2 of the Bentley,
the bushings I have look more like the subframe bushings in the
picture--a wide end and a narrow end. The control arm bushings shown
have more or less an hourglass X-section, flared out at both ends.
However, on p. 40.6, the control arm bushings shown <do> look like what
I've got. If anyone can confirm that they're correct, that'll make my
day. Thanks.
