1991 200TQ: Throttle position sensor needed

Since I just got this 200TQ recently, I'm trying to bring it up to
'snuff' for an average driver.

One of the things that's going on is that when I come to a stop with the
200TQ (and therefore pressing down on the clutch pedal), it was often
staying at around 1500 rpm for several seconds, eventually coming down
to around the 800-ish mark.

The one place that's done some work on it (replaced an outer tie rod,
inner ones are seized - yikes!) spent some time looking for vaccuum
leaks and such, and adjusted something as best they could, and it's a
little better now.

Now it doesn't do it quite as often, and now sticks at 2000 rpm before
going down to around the 800 rpm mark sooner.

I'm told by this shop that it's likely a faulty 'throttle position
sensor' (throttle 'switch'?) and so far that part is very expensive.
Like $270 CAD (approx. $175 U.S.)!

Can I take a chance on a used one, or are there better prices out
there? It's an annoyance, but I could live with it for a while if it's
going to be that expensive to fix.

Thanks...
