4kq wheel bearings

Now that I have a functioning exhaust system, I can hear that I have a
bad front wheel bearing. I looked around in the archives, and although
there are many mentions of about getting the bearings from a bearing
supplier rather than auto parts supplier, no one seems to have actually
done so and told the list about it. Has anyone purchased wheel bearings
in this way for an '87 4kq? Maybe it isn't even worth looking into, they
are not that expensive (30-40 each) but still if there is a cheaper way
to get the same part, why not?
