Center vents are "fresh air" only. Side vents should be cold. Most
likely your heater control valve is a) stuck open, or b) the cable that
controls said valve has been knocked off. Check the main coolant hose that
goes into the center of the firewall in the engine bay for the little
plastic/metal do-hickey. Cheap to get used.

Diff fluid change... some like RedLine synth, others like factory synth.

No. Leaking injectors, bad cold start injector functioning, weak fuel
pump, or pressure accumulator. Put key in, turn to "on" (not start), and
you should hear the pump going to precharge the fuel lines. This is NOT
common on all cars. I had an '86 and an '87 that operated differently. The
'87 did NOT pre-pump for some reason, but never failed to turn over
instantly.

Hah. Double Hah. I'll stay off this hot plate. Seriously, though, it
should be possible. People have done tors*n center in the 20v cars -> 016
locker trannies before.
