I had problems w/ the LCD display and performed the maintenance described at the SJM site. Did not find quite the same PCB as on the site (mine's '89 200TQW). Cleaned ALL connectors and split apart the smaller PBC's piggybacked as well. Used the G5 stuff from Cramolin ( from Parts Express).
Replaced bulbs, reglued lenses, generally went thru all the dash module, cleaned carefully w/ a bit of alcohol and compressed air. Has now been working for 3 months, no problems so far.
The internal temp sensor shouldn' t require any maintenance- it either works or not, check the resistance as per SJM site. You might check your front antenna is really hooked up, also check for loose cables and such around the fuse box while you're in there. I found a few rattles to fix.
Might want to treat the plastic parts underside with the armorall type stuff. I use the Griot's stuff.
Almost got my stuff together for MY strut replace. on the whale. thanks for posting your efforts.
