I HAD A BLAST AGAIN THIS YEAR. MY CAR HAD LOTS NEW TOYS TO SHOW OFF(LAST YEAR IT WAS BONE STOCK), AND SO DID MOST OTHERS, WHICH MADE FOR GREAT CONVERSATION. MAYBE NEXT YEAR, I'LL COMPLETE THE PACKAGE WITH THE PES G2. MAYBE THEN I'LL KEEP UP WITH JIM STOPHERD'S "RS4" 93 S4, WHICH RECEIVED A NEW CAM OVER THIS PAST WINTER. HE LET ME DRIVE IT LAST YEAR, WHICH WAS NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING. SO HE OFFERED ME THE KEYS THIS YEAR WITH A QUOTE OF "WHY DON'T WE GO SCARE SOME COPS" THIS YEAR HE HAD THE BOOST DIALED DOWN TO 22PSI, FROM 28 LAST YEAR, WHICH IS JUST NUTS. BUT HE'S A GERMAN MASTER MECHANIC, SO I DON'T ARGUE WITH HIM ABOUT THE HEAD-BLOWING BOOST HE'S RUNNING. THE DRIVE WAS OVER BEFORE I KNEW IT, BUT WE HAD RUN FROM THE MOUNTAIN TO THE DANA PLACE INN AND BACK. THE CAR WAS INCREDIBLE, WITH THE TURBO WHINE AS SWEET SOUNDING AS EVER. FIRST GEAR IS PRETTY MUCH NON-EXISTANT, AS THE REVS MOVE ALMOST AS FAST IN FIRST, AS THEY WOULD IN NEUTRAL. SECOND IS LONGER, BUT NOT BY MUCH!
. I SWEAR IN ABOUT 10 SECONDS, I
WAS AROUND 100. THE ONLY CAR I'VE DRIVEN THAT WAS PROBABLY FASTER, WAS THE VIPER GTS, WHICH WAS AN IMPRESSIVE CAR IN DRY, IDEAL CONDITIONS. BUT THINK OF THIS CAR, WHICH COULD DO ABOUT THE SAME IN WET, AND PRETTY DAMN GOOD IN THE WINTER, IT'S PRETTY CLEAR WHICH IS THE SUPERIOR AUTOMOBILE. IF THERE ARE LISTERS OUT THERE WHO SET LIFE GOALS, PUT THIS ONE ON YOUR LIST. "BEFORE I DIE, I MUST DRIVE A 400+HP QUATTRO" IT'S INCREDIBLE AND A MUST FOR ANY ENTHOUSIAST.
