Powdercoating Problems and Questions

Todd,
I would suggest to get rid of the paint inside the pan! Not a GOOD IDEA!
Not only you are having a significant peeling issue, you are also having a
thermal issue! Your oil will run hotter since the coating will act as
insulator! Powder coat is very thick! (Compare to spray paint)!

GET RID OF IT!

Take care,

Subject: Powdercoating Problems and Questions

Heya,
I think my Powdercoating shop messed up. I took a bunch of
stuff to them including my oil pan and valve cover. Thay claim
to do engine parts all the time and assured me they would mask
off parts that shouldnt be painted.
Well, the outside of my oil pan and valve cover look very
nice. Problem is So do the Insides!!! Now I could be wrong but
should you not paint the inside of an oilpan. WHat happens when
a piece of paint comes loose and clogs an oil passage. BOOM!
Thats what I think anyhow. Could be wrong.
Anyhow, just looking for some advice, is this fine or am I
right. IF I"m right I'm going back there and telling them I
want a refund. Good thing I haven't paid them yet. Grrr.

    Todd
