Powdercoating Problems and Questions

Good point Orin. However, if the factory oil pans are
powdercoated inside, which some say they are, then I guess it is
OK.
I'm thinking its fine provided its done right. I had a quick
drain ball valve in place of my standard drain plug and it
leaked a little oil onto the pan before spraying but after
blasting. this bubbled the Powdercoat. So they are re-doing it
without the ball valve mounted. I think the key is to just
inspect your parts for flaws.
Everyone seems to think that if its done right then it will be
trouble free. And I know this shop does many parts for race
cars in the area so I guess I should trust their 20yrs
experience.
BTW...only $140 to do 4 wheels they said. Not bad if you need
to re-do some factory Ronals in silver. Or Black to match a
black car maybe. :-)
thanks
  todd
