Going ot cover a number of replies here so bear with me.

JPG Exhaust, 287 Speers Road, Oakville Ontario. 905-33-0317 - Phil Chan -
Owner

I haven't used them yet, but I was impressed with the shop and the people -
I have no references from others so this is only my impression of them.

Cost included everything AFTER the downpipe: flex - cat - flex - pipe -
res - pipe - res - pipe - muffler - tip
All 3" I.D., all S.S., tip 4" I.D. chromed integrated into muffler, all
hangars and installation.

Oops, that's one resonator, extra one was another $65 cdn. I would like
performance but am thinking that the extra resonator will help keep the tone
down at cruise. BTDTs would be appreciated.

Currently the original stock oem exhaust is perforating in several places -
not bad after ~11 years in the salt belt. The engine performance is not up
to the intended SS exhaust system just yet, but the system needs replacing.
Any improvement in flow will be appreciated by any mods to be done. The 3"
SS system should cover anything I could do to it and in reality is no more
expensive than a new OEM replacement.

I wish I had access to a 4 wheel dyno to get a comparison, it would be
interesting. The car is currently stock except for a shim in the wastegate
(no chip or fuel pump cut-off mod) and the by-pass valve. It seems to be
running very well and is close to what I would consider full original power.
The stock boost gauge will readily indicate 1.5/1.6 BAR with an occassional
1.7 BAR peak reading before cut-out.

More power will be better! ;) I'd also like to get rid of an annoying rattle
from somewhere in the exhaust sytem that manifests itself if I blip the
throttle to 3500 rpm and then let it drop to idle. It sounds like loose
washer on a bolt or a heat shield rattle, but I just can't find it.

I do not want to sound like these ricers do with their 'here I come'
exhausts, rather I want a "what was that and where did it come from?" kind
of sound AFTER I have blown by the poor soul.

Anybody, in the Toronto/Mississauga area, know where I can get a 4 wheel
dyno run?

I know there are other lister in the area and we are talking about doing a
bunch together to help bring the price down. If you are thinking along these
lines in the GTA, let me know. My timing is looking for first week of May
installation.

Cheers,

PS Javad - no down-pipe included, I mentioned that it was my intention to
find/buy/make one like Graydons.

Your sarcasm in the last paragraph was not really required nor particularly
helpful. It's kind of the problem we face on the list where 'know-it-alls'
are too busy puffing up their chests and boasting of their knowledge rather
than sharing it. You are not the worst offender, I just wish that everyone
would lighten-up a lot and have fun.

I look at it this way; I don't care if you (that's a generic you) have a
rusted/crapped out 4K slush-box or a totally modded S8 6speed. I will lust
after the S8 but if the owner is a pompous ass, that's his loss not mine. If
you are into the marque, and want to hang with others for that reason,
that's why I'm here. How much you have, what you've done, your age... and
all that other crap is of no value here. If you want to share in your love
of cars (particularly Audi TQs) then do so, and let's leave all that other
crap elsewhere.

There is 'Best' or 'Right' or 'The' only when viewed in isolation. When
taken in relation to the real world of potential and multitudinous
variables, those terms are only 'relatively speaking' An open mind, an open
heart, two open ears and eyes - powerful tools for peace and harmony. -
IMHO.

relation to its scale." Me

Total cost installed, with hangars, tip and taxes was quoted at $950 CDN.
Cost for HD Galvanized system ~$150 CDN less.

Considering that << DOES NOT >> inlcudes the downpipe, that is an amazing
price. Are they
going to fab you up a new downpipe? Are they going to do the labor to open
up your engine compartment to remove and install the new downpipe? It just
sounds too good to be true, let me know.
