Extended warranty's?

Careful....every extended warranty i have ever been offered for a used
vehicle (and new ones for that matter) covers only powertrain repairs.
Recently the " extended" warranty from the Nissan dealer for my 96 4x4 PU
did not cover even parts on the engine (the alternator was bad), but only
the internal engine parts, transmission and differentials.  Sounds good, but
how often do these parts fail on a well-maintained vehicle?  Very rarely...

When you examine what is covered in most extended warranties it isn't worth
the initial $$$ outlay.

besides we all know when things break...about 1 week-1month after the
warranty is up.
