thought I found it, must be something else ['88 5kcstq slow boost]

This is about my '88 5kcstq.

I've been wondering why I'm not getting the quick boost response I
was getting earlier. Seemingly ever since I replaced the WGFV to
upper WG chamber hose, it takes forever to reach max boost, if it
even does at all (run out of road by that time). I certainly doesn't
feel as quick as it recently did, which was the quickest it had ever
felt since I've had it.

I know that the WG and WGFV have influence on how quickly
boost is achieved, so I was inspecting the WGFV area, and
following the hoses around. The bentley was marginally helpful to
me.

I totally thought I had found the reason. The hose going from the
WGFV to the intake manifold just behind the throttle body was very
loose on the nipple. I could just pull it off, and the hose clamp
wasn't tight.

I took the Michelin Man hose off, which was just replaced two
weeks ago, and removed the hose in question. I trimmed some of
the end off of it until I got to the "clean" part, and reinstalled it.

I anticipated great things happening, with the 1.3bar I was seeing
at satisfyingly lower-than-ever-before rpms after I first trimmed and
reinstalled the nasty original upper WG to WGFV hose.

What I found was basically the same amount of boost and
performance I was seeing earlier today, before I tidy-ed up the
boost hose from the intake manifold to the WGFV. It was a big let
down. I was excited about having that performance again, as well
as about successfully solving yet another problem this car threw at
me. But I was wrong.

I ran the output tests, and the WGFV clicks like normal. I pulled
off and reattached the connectors related to it. I'm thinking the
ECU is not helping the spring keep the WG closed. What else
would cause this to happen?

Thanks,

Ken
