re. refinishing leather seats

I have had relatively good success with "liquid Lether" from JC Whitney.
Available in a few basic colors.

It needs to be applied in successive thin coats. It will act as both a
colorant and thin layer of leather like vinyl. If done properly, it will
appear like leather. If not applied properly, it will peel, but can be
easily be removed/retouched. You will need at least one bottle for the
front seats, and another for the rear. Get more than what you think you
need. Use Isopropyl(rubbing) alcohol as a cleaner/solvent.

I have been able to change the entire interior color of my 5KTQ wagon, and
it looks great. I actually re-colored a set of front seats (originally gray)
from a junkyard and re-colored black. The Brown with tan suede interior
also in the rear seat and side panels. It was necessary to dilute with
iso-alcohol to color the suede. IMO, this is what the interior should have
looked like when new - all Black with touch of gray suede. Not the
tan/brown with suede(alcalantra?) - yuck!

Due to the thread dry rot/disintegration in my 4KQ, the fix is more drastic,
requiring sewing. I've also been able to use the "liquid sitch" to patch
some areas by applying some clean leather strips from another seat I tore
apart for material. I really don't want to take the seats apart to repair,
so this is working, but they don't look as good as if recovered.

I think if you get the liquid leather into your seats and soak the threads,
it will prevent them from coming apart as mine did, as my leather is still
intact with no tears. Hope this helps.

[I have a set of leather seats from a 4kq that I want to put into my car.
The problem is, they are starting to crack, and some of the leather has worn
spots. Has anyone had luck with redyeing seats, or have some technique to
make them look nicer, and last a bit longer?

P.S. Anyone have the wiring for 4kq seat heaters from a parts car or
something that they want to sell?

Thanks!
