More test drives- addendum

...as an aside, it may be interesting to know how driving experience of a
Torsen 90q and the Haldex TT and S3 compare.
Actually, chassis balance of the TT and S3 is so excellent that it never
feels like you're driving a FWD car when compared to the 90q. These cars
both understeer slightly, but that's how (even RWD) cars are generally set
up these days. With good tyres however, the Haldax-equipped cars feel
incredibly stable and neutral, with power going to the wheels as you expect
it and no nasty surprises in store.
This was in spirited open road driving (way above posted speeds, and
deliberately trying to find the limits) but atmittedly not on a race track
at 10/10ths. I wouldn't however hesitate to say that the Haldex-equipped
quattros are any less than the Torsen cars as far as the general driving
experience is concerned.
