I finally got mine off after being very frustrated for hours. I was told
that I could do the slave without using a lift or jackstands, but ended up
going in from underneath. Much easier to get a hammer up there to beat on
it. Used a wooden hammer/hatchet handle and a hammer from underneath. (You
might need to shorten it to be the "perfect length for getting the hammer up
there also) Also went at it from above with a very long screwdriver.
Since the slave needs to be extracted moving towards the back of the car I
tried beating it loose from the side/underneath then my final blows exerted
their force from the top moving towards the back. CAREFUL. The wood I used
was inteded to soften the blow. I was worried that too much beating would
crack the housing around it.
BTW, you might also try drenching it with liquid wrench to work an any
corrosion issues before you start beating about.
GOOD LUCK! I bet you thought I was kidding when I said that the roll pin
was the easy part...
Also BTW, a 3/8 (5MM) flat punch worked fine for mine...didn't need the
pointed tip.
