Throttle Bodies and Dashpot

My 100q originally had a dashpot on the throttle body, but the PO's mechanic
removed it to solve a similar problem. It has been out for many years, and
the car is still going strong at an ~220k miles.

On a similar note, I am swapping throttle bodies on my 200q today to remove
the dashpot and hopefully solve some other quirky problems. I noticed that
the replacement throttle body I choose from my stash of many was different
than the others. This one had a hole through the throttle plate. A
permanent air bypass. Has anyone else noticed such a thing before? The
throttle body is off an MC1 5kt(q?). Perhaps this is the difference between
the MC throttle plates for the automatic and manual 5kt's?

Just a point of curiosity...

Later!
