The front antenna is for FM only.
The rear has 2 parts. The top 2 wires are for AM and the heater grid is for
FM. The 2 signals are amplified with 2 separate circuits and combined, then
off to the radio they go.
The radio selects the strongest signal for FM use.
Overall this is a solution looking for a problem.
I have replaced the whole darn lot with a simple wing mounted whip that I
connected to the co-ax going to the amp box, just spliced it in. Reception
on AM and FM is WAY better. If you value your listening pleasure more than
the sleek look of a 200 without antennae this is a quick and satisfying job.
