I'm guessing that the dashpot is there soley for smoothing out the on to off
throttle transition in the driveline. At 3 grand+ you can whip yer foot off
the pedal fast as can be and there is no thud in the driveline like in the
non-dashpot equipped cars. Personally I hate the thing, and next time I'm
the the area it's coming out. It's a plain nuissance below 2500RPM, and
makes the car worse to drive in any kind of city traffic IMHO.
