This won't help your current situation...but generally, the sunroof
mechanism is happiest when it's clean.
I periodically clean the channels as best I can with a rag and then lube
with Pedro's Synthetic Oil (MTB, if anyone cares) (it's high quality bicycle
lube...any good quality lube will do).
On my 200T this made the roof cycle much more quickly, probably on the order
of 25-30% the first time I did it.
