type44: rear defroster dont work..any ideas?

yesterday it was raining here, the inside of my '86 5kT was foggin up, so i 
turned on the rear defroster (its an early '86 turbo, so it still has the 
defroster button on the climate control panel like the 84-85 , not the big 
switch next to heated seat switches)

any idea as to why it doesnt work?
