Close but no cigar.  The pieces are quite similar but not exactly the 
same.  The newer switches have a more rounded surface.  The do, however, 
fit in the same holes.

Hmmmm.  Either I misread your statement or not in my '95 S6.  The front 
fogs have to be on before the rear will turn on/off.
