Just removed my Servotronic relay....

...and WOW what a difference!
I knew the thing was overboosted, but after 4 years of ownership I
guess I had just gotten used to it.
I had been going through my interior looking for my G92
potentiometer(temp flap regulator; nothing but heat in my car with an
8.5 CC error code), and I thought, what the hell, let's go get that
Servotronic relay.
If memory serves, the original instructions on removing this relay
included glove box removal. Didn't need to. I popped off the cosmetic
panel on the side of the dashboard (you can only see it when the door's
open), and with the glove box open, I could see through some holes in
the side. I thought I'd just take a peek up behind glove box and what
do I see? Plain as day on the right side up behind the glove box,
"SERVOTRONIC".
Now, an accomplished mechanic wouldn't have done what I just did... I
yanked at it. The Servotronic relay has 2 mounting points on it and
then a plug like recepticle. I should've just flipped the clips on
either side of the plug and moved it back, instead, I inadvertently
broke both mounting points and THEN removed the plug.
Replacing this damn thing would require some SuperGlue!
Either way, it's out. At first I thought I had completely disengaged
the power steering, but as it turns out it's just heavy. My Audi now
requires 2 hands on the wheel below 20 mph, whereas before just 2
fingers would've been enough.
