Sure. In 1975 I traded in a 1973 Porsche 911 for a 1975 Audi Fox (
profoundly stupid decision but no reason to revisit or relive that).
Dealer simply made out a check for the difference in the trade-in value of
the 911 and the purchase price of the Fox.
