removing speaker crud

I have some crud embedded in a few of the tiny holes of the Bose speaker
grille at the bottom of the driver's side door in my A4QS Avant.  The crud
is road glop that splashed up onto the interior of the door after a recent
snow storm.  The crud can't be removed by simply wiping the surface of the
grille with a damp cloth.  I apparently need something that will lift it
out.  Goof Off perhaps?  Any ideas?
