Also it is impossible to remove the brake rotor without taking the whole
caliper with carrier off the strut. If the caliper is just swung up then
the carrier stays down around the rotor. I'm fairly certain the rotor can't
be pulled off with the carrier in place, or am I misinformed?
When I change the pads and rotors I remove the upper guide pin. Swing
the caliper body down and remove the pads. Undo the two carrier to strut
bolts. Pull the caliper + carrier off the strut and hang it. Yank rotor
off and install a new one. Push piston back in. Bolt the carrier back to
the strut. Swing caliper down again and install new pads. Push the caliper
back up and install upper guide pin.
Am I nuts?
