Clogged radiator?

Hi,

I have an Audi 200 TA -88 and the problem is high temperature.

During city-drive the temperature gauge goes up to 105-110C (221-230F) 
before the fan's 2nd speed comes on. In highway the temperature is between 
90 and 100C (194-212F) The gauge shows correct temperature (tested with 
external thermometer). I have changed the thermo switch,thermostat and water 
pump and I cannot think any other possibility than the radiator (about 600$, 
WHEE!!). Has anybody tried the radiator cleaning stuff...is it worth of 
money?
