I'm curious as to how they know both are leaking. A cam
cover gasket leak usually masks a head gasket leak, so you
have to fix the former before you can be sure you have the
latter.
Cam cover leaks are easy and cheap to fix. Just make sure
the cam cover is truly flat between the holes (they get bent if
they're overtightened on a cork gasket) and get the right
neoprene gasket fitted - they're different for shouldered and
non-shouldered studs.
While the cam cover's off, check the head bolts by applying 5
degrees clockwise to each in the proper sequence with a
dial-type torque wrench.
