Later on when I get situated a bit, I'll post some pics somewhere of 
what my clips look like.  They are metal, like spring steel, and 
snap on with a minor vengeance.  Using my bare fingers wouldn't 
have worked for me.  Perhaps if I smashed down on the center 
enough for them to flatten out to unhook?  Is that how yours are?  

I guess this supports the lenses for Cibies being different than the 
Hella's (they are not interchangeable onto opposite housings).
