85 5000 turbo accelaration and tranny problems

Well, since Phil Payne does not seem to be here to say it... make the
car run perfectly as stock before messing with performance
modifications. What I am suggesting is to get that spring out of there,
then make the car work right. After that the spring might be an
improvement, but only after that.
Suggestions to look into (once the spring is out...) - injectors might
need replacing, and of course the ubiquitous vacuum/pressure leaks that
can develop. Look for hidden splits in hoses, etc.
