85 5000 turbo accelaration and tranny problems

Thanks ... I did have a split flexible intake hose a few months back ...
what it did was that when I
gave it more than 1/4 throttle ... black smoke came out the tailpipe ...
the car was utterly undrivable.
the problem i'm having now is much more predictable always happening at
the same boost/rpm ranges...
I will check to hoses over once again though ... as far as the spring
goes ... it came from an identical 85
car my friend had before he scrapped it ... his ran awsome until he had
electrical problems he could not
solve.... by the way, i did'nt mention that i put in a fuel distributor
off of an '87 5kt ... mine is an '855kt could this
be the culprit?
