I just did my rear shocks on my 87 5ktq and installed bilsteins. To remove
the stock shocks, i just clamped a pair of vice grips on the shaft and then
used a socket to loosen the nut. To install the Bilsteins, i used the same
socket, clamped the vice grips on the socket and had a 6 mm allen key slide
down inside the socket to hold the shaft. Was able to tighten the nut
without the shaft spinning. Not sure if other shocks have allen key or that
little notch like the OEM shocks that were on my car.

Hi there,

I was wondering where can I get the above mention tool? Is there any
aftermarket alternative from Sir Tools or Lisle?

TIA
