Bingo. I've always said that competition driving instruction is the only
mod you can take with you into every car you ever drive from that day
forward, whether it's a track-prepared monster or a bottom-feeder rental.

Good choice -- and maybe think about an SCCA membership while you're at it
(http://www.scca.org). For the cheapest, lowest-risk fun you can have with
your car, look into their Solo II program; that's where you go out one by
one and see who can snake through an impromptu course of orange cones in the
least time. Not quite the rush of racetrack driving, but at a typical cost
of $20 a day it's a bargain. And if you have any stirrings of competition
in your soul, it's a way of not only driving fast, but driving *faster than
someone else*.

Have fun!
