R-12 conversion to R134 ... BTDT? Any regrets? Recommendations?

Talking to a guy servicing our server room, he stated:
"R-12, in a 30 lb cylinder...runs about $1500 right now"(30lb is
almost enough for a huge system like our server room, including pipes
that go up two stories to a condensor, etc; cars need much less.)

"...and what's funny is that R-12, which depletes the ozone, is completely
harmless to humans; you can breathe in the stuff.  R134?  It'll kill ya."
