Not positive about Fords, but he could have been bumping up against his
computer governed speed limiter. I know most GM makes have them...so much
for driving excitement!

I'm sure the level of driver experience also had something to do with it.
Most drivers out there who brag about their prowess behind the wheel, or
drive wildly on the road, don't know even the basics of car control.

As for Rave Racer's comments...to offer a rebuttal....
I own an American (GM) car, a Japanese (Honda) car, and a German (Audi)
car. Each have their strengths and weaknesses. You can't directly compare
some of these cars. I love my Honda CRX Si, which is my current project
car. It is fast, handles superbly, and entertaining like hell. Some of you
may not like what I'm about to write, but Honda's level of reliability
should shame any Audi engineer. With the mountain of work my 200-TQ needs,
Audi reliability is a magnitude below Japanese reliability.

But I wouldn't put my CRX up against, say a Mustang Cobra and not expect to
be eating dust during a street drag. It's like showing up for a gun fight
with a knife. But in today's car environment, the younger generation seems
a bit ignorant. They lack common sense and seem close minded. They think
they know all there needs to know and can't be taught any more. They talk
trash. They know nothing else but their Civic Si's, pimp it out and slow it
down with silly wings and 18" wheels, and egg on street races, get beat or
worst kill someone. This has given the more serious Japanese enthusiasts a
bad rep. I, being one of them, can say we do not support or condone them.

I don't make it my business to put down any and all types of cars that are
made exclusive from the origin of my chosen car. I like my Audi, and I like
my Honda...I get along with my GM, but that's another story.
You will find that there are some finely custom crafted Hondas out there
that can easily outrun an Audi. And vice versa.

Don't let an encounter with one idiot with a Civic result in a blanket
statement like your, "What's with it with these Jap, /'Murican
cars....sewing machines...etc." You crossed paths with an idiot driver, not
an idiot car.

It would be no different than if all who came across the youngster on the
audiworld forum who recently crashed his '92 100CS and blames the car when
he didn't service his brakes, to conclude, "What's with these kraut barges
and their unintended acceleration problems?"
