repairing the old Coupe

Well, it's been awhile since I've sent anything to the list.

I just wanted to ask some advice regarding my repair situation with the
coupe.

I have been toying with the idea of replacing the CV boots on my car,
because I know for sure that one of them is cracked and leaking grease. I
don't want to spend a ton of cash getting them all done, because I'm not
making much money these days, so I have been thinking about tackling the job
myself. (tuition fees + unemployment = no fun with the car)

But my predicament is that I am not sure if I have the tools or the patience
to do this job myself. Is it worth getting a mechanic to do it for me, or is
this a straightforward repair? Actually, I think I really need to know if I
will need some special tools which I wouldn't have in a regualr toolbox,
(aside from an impact wrench to get the wheelnut off...I couldn't budge that
thing last time I tried) and what sort of difficulties I can expect.

I am swaying towards getting the mechanic to do it, because I am under the
impression that this job may be beyond the capabilities of my toolbox and
patience. The most difficult repair I've ever undertaken on the Audi has
been removing the intake manifold, which is more of a hassle than a
difficulty.
