Front wheel bearing & a-arm bushings

HELP!!

I noticed a wild intermittent vibration in the steering wheel today.  When I 
got home I jacked up the front of the car to see what happened.  The drivers 
side wheel wobbles about 1/4 inch?? around it's axis but turns without 
clicking or doing anything else strange.  So great, fine I can deal,  check 
the other side just to make sure,   wheel is tight on axis but can move back 
and forth in a straight line quite a ways.  Look underneath  sho' 'nuff  
A-arm bushings are shredded!!  

Looking for a friendly lister in the Portland, OR area with a puller and 
maybe some experience doing this.  Has anyone ever done a front wheel bearing 
with the strut housing still on the car??
